What We Believe

In the midst of turmoil, strife, hopelessness, broken homes, division, wars and rumors of wars,the age old question continues to ring out. (Acts 2:37) Men and brethren what shall we do????

We can’t stop the inevitable end of the earth that is sure to come, but we can be ready. What in the world do we need to do to insure that we are on the side of the right?? At Anchor Tabernacle we believe there is an answer. Acts 2:38 describes the complete plan of Salvation as God spoke through the Apostle Peter saying “Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost”. Was that just for those who asked that question on that particular day? Not according to verse 39. “for the promise is unto you and your children and those who are afar off even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

The simple plan that God gave when He shed His blood as atonement for our sins is: 1) Repent 2) Be baptized (in water) in the name of Jesus Christ 3) Receive ye the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with other tongue as the Spirit of God gives the utterance.

Through the ages there has been much controversy and division over the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus saves, heals and delivers (Isa. 61:1, Luke 4:18) and there is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

If you have been baptized any other way but in the name of Jesus, please ask yourself why? What IS the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost? His NAME IS JESUS! For He shall take away the sins of the world!! (John 1:29) Is there any reason why you do not want to take on that lovely name of Jesus today??
